ACDelco Slammer 2017 400 Thunder Champions

Fabietti Racing has secured the championship for the ACDelco Slammer Drag Racing Team at the final round of the 400 Thunder season at the Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway in Maurice Fabietti’s Holden Monaro. The Championship is Mark’s maiden national title, coming in his debut season in the ACDelco Monaro Slammer.

In the last race of the season and leading the championship by just 39 points, Mark Belliri needed a good showing at the Winternationals to secure the title.

In a very competitive 16 car field, it was not going to be easy with qualifying the first hurdle. Playing it safe, Mark put down a best qualifying run of 5.88 seconds which slotted him in position 7 with a strong chance to secure the title early the following day in eliminations.

Mark was due to line up against Ben Bray in the first elimination final, but it wasn’t to be as persistent heavy rain forced the cancellation of the event before eliminations could begin.

With Mark sitting atop the Championship standings, he was officially announced as the 2017 400 Thunder Pro Slammer Champion.

“Being crowned as the 400 Thunder Pro Slammer Champion is an absolute dream come true.” Said Mark.

“They say you’re as good as your crew, and right now my crew is the best in the business”

“In particular Maurice Fabietti (team owner) and my dad Lucky, I’m just so proud to win the championship for them”

“I’d also really like to thank ACDelco, in just the first year of our partnership we’ve come out and won the championship, without ACDelco’s support there is no way we could have done it.”

“Now that the ACDelco Slammer Drag Racing Team has achieved this awesome milestone, our next challenge is to go back to back!”

The 400 Thunder season fires back up again at the East Coast Nationals in November.
